2021 Eastern Youth Open

After Google AlphaGo appeared in 2016, Go became more and more popular in Western countries. More people started to understand Go and like this intellectual mind-sport. After 5-year promoting Go by the New York Go Association, Go already is popular in many elementary schools, and other eastern US cities. It is the time to provide an opportunity for young players to compete in a high standard face-to-face tournament.  This is also the original intention for New York Go Association to hold this competition. The New York Go Association intends to host this competition annually and makes this event the largest youth Go tournament in the East. Due to the pandemic, players will meet each other virtually.

The Eastern Youth Open (EYO) is a 4-round open youth tournament hosted by the New York Go Association (NYGA) for all young players at all levels. Starting in 2019, the EYO provides easy access to high standard formal tournaments.
