Tournament Information
Rules
-
Format: 4 rounds, AGA rated, with AGA rules, and Swiss categorizing and rank pairings.

Handicaps: The open division (5D and up) will have no handicap, while other divisions will play with handicap-1 (e.g. a 1 kyu player will give a 4 kyu player 2 stone handicap).

Time settings: 25 minutes with 5 times 20-second byoyomi. Clocks are started 5 minutes after the round starts. If a player does not arrive 10 minutes after that, they will forfeit the round.

Tentative Divisions: The rank divider (Open division exempt) is subject to change depending on the number of participants.
Open Division: 5D and above
Division 1: 1D to 4D
Division 2: 10K to 1K
Division 3: 25K to 11K

Anti-sandbagging: If any form of sandbagging is discovered by the players or the TD, the TD has the right to disqualify a player’s current games and reallocate that player to the division that fits their actual rank.

Late arrivals: If a player does not arrive in time for the first round and does not notify the TD that they wish to participate, they will not be included in further rounds.
Prizes
Cash prizes are awarded to the top players in each division.
Getting to NYIG
LIRR: We are close to the Little Neck Station, from which major connections are within 30-minute rides, including Penn Station, Woodside, and Flushing.
Bus: Take Q12 to Northern Blvd or Morgan Street if you live nearby.
Drive: Street parking is convenient (meters on the street & free parking off the street).
